(See the CA Republican Party's endorsements here.)
The California Democratic Party recently announced the Party’s endorsements for the November ballot propositions. Party Chairman John Burton noted that the political party would work hard to pass the Governor’s tax measure, Proposition 30, in order to prevent cuts to education. The governor has threatened that if voters don’t approve the tax initiative that schools will face steep cuts. Prop 30 would generate an estimated $8.5 billion in revenues.
Burton also commented, “We have a real fight on our hands in California this year but Democrats are prepared to dig deep and work hard to win. If Prop 32 were to pass, it would effectively silence the voice of working families at the ballot box while giving corporate interests and billionaire businessmen free rein to exert even more influence on our political system. We’re not going to let that happen.”
